HOT 110 - Health Occupations I
The Health Occupations I course introduces students to the healthcare industry and provides students with basic knowledge about various career opportunities in healthcare. Classroom discussions focus on educational and training requirements, salary expectations, and the nature of the work for a variety of healthcare positions. Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to identify specific roles and responsibilities of many different health care professionals. Additional topics include the history and current trends in healthcare, along with interpersonal dynamics and communication. Organized tours of many area health facilities are given to introduce students to career options.
