Students will identify the proper tools and develop the skills for usage in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Students will develop the basic theory and practice of high and low-pressure steam and hot water boilers. They will distinguish and demonstrate the procedures of the waterside and fireside controls, and translate ASME and CSD-1 code compliance in to boiler operation practice. Students will develop a maintenance schedule including boiler log and safety check. Students will have the opportunity to obtain Boiler Operator and Control certification. Course material in portfolio development will be included.
