NET 249 - Managing a Microsoft Network

Students will install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot common network services in a Microsoft Windows LAN environment.   They will examine and perform common tasks used by network administrators to manage services such as Dynamic Host Configuration (DHCP), Network Address Translation (NAT), the Domain Name System (DNS), the Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS), Microsoft Software Update Services (SUS), Active Directory, and  routing and remote access.  Students will also analyze and demonstrate fundamental security practices in a Windows LAN environment.  Upon completion of the course students will be prepared to take the Microsoft network infrastructure certification exam.
