This second semester course will provide the EMT-P student with knowledge and skills necessary for providing advanced life support treatment modalities associated with medical emergencies in the pre-hospital setting. Knowledge that will be attained in this course encompasses the fields of Pulmonology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Urology/Nephrology, Toxicology/Substance abuse, Immunology, Hematology, Infectious disease, Psychiatric/Behavioral disorders, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Neonatology, Pediatrics, Gerontology and Special Needs Patients. Students will develop processes associated with determining the pathophysiology of specific diseases, as well as decision making/critical thinking processes to formulate a treatment modality and apply such to a contrived patient situation
