The Associate of Applied Science degree, with a major in Machine Tool Technology, is a four semester program that contains technical, advanced technical and general education courses. The advanced technical portion of this course is taught in the summer.  Graduates will possess the knowledge and skills needed to program, tool and operate CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) mills and lathes. Graduates will also have the skills needed to draw and program in Mastercam. The Machine Tool Technology program advisory committee, composed of representatives from the manufacturing field, annually updates machining skills needed for immediate and successful employment.


Associate of Applied Science degree Program Outcomes
• Applies knowledge to solve design problems in a creative and ethical manner.
• Applies creative concepts when using Master Cam.
• Analyzes principles of leadership and motivation.
• Evaluates projects to identify potential production problems.

The Machine Tool Technology technical certificate program, which contains technical education courses is two semesters in length. Graduates will possess the knowledge and skills needed to program, tool and operate CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) mills and lathes. A program advisory committee, composed of representatives from manufacturing, annually updates the machining skills needed for immediate and successful employment. For graduates wanting to continue their education, diploma courses satisfy many of the requirements of the Machine Tool Technology Associate of Applied Science degree program.
