Students will, through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, textbook exercises, and classroom labs, acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to help prepare them to take the Microsoft server certification exam and to become a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).  Students will also prepare for the exam by installing, administering, and configuring Windows 2008 Server plus perform exercises on managing Windows Server 2008 user, group, and computer accounts; sharing system resources; and installing and maintaining system hardware. Prerequisites: Grade of “D” or better in NET 247 – Microsoft Client Administration or Instructor Approval. Net 248 is a prerequisite course for Course Net 249 – Managing a Microsoft Network. A failing grade in Net 248 will prevent a student from continuing the Microsoft semester.
