This course begins with the basics of hydraulic and pneumatic principles. Hydraulic history, liquid characteristics, pressure, flow, and force are the topics covered in hydraulics. Pneumatics topics include gas characteristics, pressure, volume, air temperature and moisture content, and multistage compression. Students will develop skills to construct both hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, learn how to read pneumatic and hydraulic symbols and schematics, and disassemble and reassemble pumps, cylinders, valves, and piping.
