Certified Nurse Aide

The Certified Nurse Aid course will provide students hands-on clinical experience and the basic principles of direct nursing care. Students will learn to provide patients with compassionate care and learn skills such as taking vital signs, documenting and reporting health issues, dressing wounds and assisting with wound care and medical procedures.

Program Options

The CNA course is six-weeks/90 hours. Students that successfully complete the course will be prepared to take the state certification exam.

Sondra has been a Registered Nurse since 1981 after graduating from Newman School of Nursing, she also holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Healthcare Administration/Management from FHTC. Her experience in the healthcare field includes med/surgical unit, ICU and telemetry, charge nurse, as well as serving as Director of Nursing at a long-term care facility for 26 years. Sondra taught part-time at FHTC before becoming a full-time instructor in 2014.
